CONCEPT OF ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a component of the health care system of China that can be traced back at least 6,000 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi/Chi) through the body that are essential for health. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for disease. Acupuncture may, it has been theorized, correct imbalances of flow at identifiable points close to the skin.
Humans, being a part of the universe, all laws that apply to the Universe must apply to humans. Man is made out of the same five elements (Panchabhutam) as the Universe.
The existence of life and its activity is concealed. It cannot be seen and only through the external symptoms, it can be understood. The cause of the disease is concealed; the energy that cures it is also concealed. Hence, believing things that cannot be seen but can be understood is the basic of Classical Acupuncture.
